Michelle May, has
over 13 years of experience working in the Orthotic and Prosthetic
field. She is a Certified Fitter of Orthotics with the American
Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics and also with
the Board for Othotist/Prosthetist Certification. Her experience
includes fabrication, fitting, and evaluation of various orthotic
devices. She assists with in-patient as well as out-patient services.
Her training includes the Camp Institute for Applied Technology,
Jobst products and custom supports, Amoena/Airway mastectomy products,
Radiant Impressions custom breast form fitting, and the Cascade
dafo dynamic splinting training course.
Michelle received a BS degree in biology from Emory University in
Atlanta Georgia and an MFA degree in sculpture from Washington University
in St. Louis , Missouri . Much of her knowledge and ability in orthotics
and prosthetics was acquired through apprenticeship with orthotic
and prosthetic practitioners. She currently resides near the Hudson
River in Beacon, NY with her partner Patrick Gallagher and their
daughter Nuriya.
