Gordon started in his Orthotic career in 1987 as an Orthotic Technician for Dearborn Orthotics and Prosthetic Systems in Michigan while attending Occupational Therapy School.  He continued his career as an OTR with The Michigan Army National Guard, where he concentrated on reduction/fixation of various fractures and dislocations, hand therapy and splinting.  Gordon was active serving our Country during Operation Dessert Storm when he designed and implemented the occupational therapy program for an eight-bed burn unit at King Fahd Military Medical Center.  When not on active duty, Gordon worked at the Rehabilitation Institute of Detroit, where he began his Orthotic internship in 1990.  Gordon received his ABC (American Board Certification) in Orthotics in 1994.  He then took his skills to Newington Orthotic & Prosthetic Systems (Waterbury Branch) where he provided care for patients ranging form pediatrics through geriatrics, in clinic, hospital and physician office settings.  All the while he maintained his active participation in the United States Army Reserve in W. Hartford, CT until his recent retirement with 23 years of dedicated service to the Army Medical Specialty Corps.

In 1994 Gordon had the desire to give something back to the community and share hi knowledge with students.  He accepted a position of Adjunct Instructor in the University of Connecticut Orhtotic Program. He provided didactic and laboratory instruction to upper extremity Orhtotic students.

In 1998, Gordon took his experience to BioMetrics (Waterbury Branch). He became the area expert in upper extremity Orhtotic management.  That, combined with his experience and natural understanding of Lower extremity Orthotic management, Gordon has become one of the most respected orthotists in Connecticut.

Gordon’s interests expanded and in 2002, he received his ABC certificate in Prosthetics.  As expected, Gordon’s ability to care for patients with an Amputation has been nothing short of exceptional.  His calm, patient demeanor and ability to focus hi attention on that one patient has made him a favorite for patients in the Grater Waterbury area.

In February 2006, Gordon accepted a position of Co-Manager/Partner with New England Orthotics and Prosthetic Systems, Middlebury, CT.
