EXPERIENCE
- Paul Macy is an American Board Certified (ABC) Prosthetist and Orthotist. He has 10 years of clinical experience in CT. The specific needs of each individual patient is met by Paul’s expansive knowledge of innovative technology and componentry. His prior career as a mechanical engineer in Computer Aided Design (CAD) has cultivated Paul’s particular interest in R&D and CAD applications to O&P.
- He has lectured nationally at conferences on prosthetics and locally at the Newington Certificate Program on CAD/CAM. Paul has been invited to consult as an expert prosthetist.
SPECIALTIES
- Early prosthetic fittings following amputation.
- Dysvascular and/or diabetic patient management.
- Microprocessor controlled lower and upper extremity prosthetic systems.
- Lower extremity orthotic management (AFO’s and KAFO’s).
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- B.A. Mathematical Economics, Colgate University.
- M.S. Mechanical Engineering, Boston University.
- Post-Graduate Degrees in Prosthetics (Valedictorian) and Orthotics, Newington Certificate Program.
- Certifications in microprocessing knee systems including CLeg, RHEO knee and Adaptive Knee; Myoelectric Upper Extremity Prosthetic Certified; Certification in advanced below knee and above knee socket system design and components.

- CPO: Certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics.
- FAAOP: Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotics & Prosthetics.
GOOD WILL MISSIONS
- Pakistan 2006: Paul accompanied a local physician. He fabricated prosthetic limbs and orthoses for the Pakistan Earthquake Victims.
- Grenada 2005: Paul accompanied by a local physician and team. This team designed and built prosthetic limbs for Grenada’s poor.
